Britain’s Got Talent’s Susan Boyle reveals she has Asperger’s

According to the Sunday's edition of The Observer, Britain's Got Talent's Susan Boyle revealed she has Asperger's syndrome.

After Boyle discovered she has Asperger's syndrome, she felt relieved and in the interview, a 52-year old singer, said, "I was told I had brain damage. I always knew it was an unfair label."

"Now I have a clearer understanding of what's wrong and I feel relieved and a bit more relaxed about myself," said Boyle.

Asperger's syndrome, also known as Asperger disorder (AD) is a form or autism that causes a developmental disorder and is characterized by difficulties in social abilities and nonverbal communication.

People with Asperger's are often bullied and that's how Boyle felt often, and she was open about that. Boyle said she was called "Susie Simple."

Susan Boyle gained popularity in 2009, when she auditioned for Britain's Got Talent with the song titled "I dreamed a dream." After her audition, Simon Cowell commented, "I knew, a minute you walked out on that stage, that we were going to hear something extraordinary and I was right."

Boyle didn't win Britain's Got Talent show, however her debut album sold over 8 million copies. She is currently promoting her newest release, a Christmas album titled Home for Christmas. The album carries 12 songs including some of the most famous carols such as "The Christmas Song," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "O Come All Ye Faithful," "Hark The Herald Angels Sing," to name a few.
