'Zoolander 2' Spoilers, Cast News: Ben Stiller Confirms Pop Star Justin Bieber's Role in Movie
On Wednesday, Ben Stiller revealed via Instagram that there will be a new addition to the cast of the Zoolander sequel.
The movie is set to come to the big screen on February 12th, 2016. The caption to the photograph, which was a black and white still image of Stiller's character, Derek Zoolander, having a face off of his signature look, "Blue Steel", with Justin Bieber, said "#Zoolander2 @justinbieber".
Fans quickly took note of Bieber's spiky, brown hair, wondering whether he had decided to change his blond hair for a darker color. On Bieber's social media page, he confirmed that he was wearing a wig, with the hashtag "#itsawignotmynewhair".
The 21-year-old artist teased fans with the implication that he might have a role in Zoolander 2, on his Facebook page, where he shared a post saying "Working on something big right now in Europe. To learn more follow me on Fahlo."
It is not a surprise that Bieber, the beloved pop singer, has been cast in this film, the original of which first debuted in 2001.
He recently proved himself as a comedian of sorts when he stared in Comedy Central's Roast of Justin Bieber. Bieber was a good sport as he was the target of insulting jokes from Kevin Hart, Ludacris and Martha Stewart.
The singer has also been able to prove himself in the world of modeling, having been chosen as the new face of Calvin Klein in January.
It looks like he will be giving Derek Zoolander some fierce competition on the big screen in 2016.
