'Zoolander 2' News: First Teaser Trailer Released For Film [VIDEO]
The first teaser trailer has finally been released for the highly anticipated 'Zoolander 2,' shortly after its leak the past week.
Apart from the Paris Fashion Week reveal, this is the first time we've seen Ben Stiller reprise his iconic role as the dim-witted male model since the original movie's premiere in 2001.
The two minute trailer served to re-introduce the public to Zoolander, as it contained no actual scenes from the actual movie. It's however been revealed that the sequel will take place in present day, and years from the original.
"It's the first teaser for Zoolander 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2001 original comedy starring Ben Stiller as male model-turned-assassin Derek Zoolander. The follow-up is set more than a decade after the events of the first film, and it'll feature a slew of original stars-including Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor, and Will Ferrell - as well as new cast members Penelope Cruz, Kristen Wiig, and Cyrus Arnold (as Derek's son). Several cameos have also been announced, including Willie Nelson and Justin Bieber (this is also the only time you will ever hear those two names in the same sentence)," writes EW.
'Zoolander 2' will largely deal with the veteran male model dealing with how different things are for the him and fellow model Hansel in the industry nowadays.
"It's basically Derek and Hansel ten years later - though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime," Stiller previously stated. "Their lives have changed and they're not really relevant anymore. It's a new world for them."
'Zoolander 2' plans on premiering on February 12, 2016.
