Zooey Deschanel has announced her engagement with Jacob Pechenik , just a week after the couple announced that they're expecting a baby.

The couple, who has been dating since August last year, is expecting a baby this summer, according to Us Weekly.

Speaking about her pregnancy, Deschanel said, "Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one," according to the People Magazine.

The magazine also said reported Deschanel isn't the only one expecting. Her sister, Emily, who stars in the TV series 'Bones', revealed last month that she and actor/writer David Hornsby is set to welcome their second child this year.

Pechenik is a producer, and the two have worked together on her upcoming movie "Rock The Kasbah'. The movie, which is also starring Bruce Willis and Kate Hudson, is about an American music that is running into losses and discovers a girl with an amazing voice in Afghanistan.

Speaking to E! News about the upcoming baby, Pechenik said, "It'd be a weird Three Men and a Baby vibe, just imagine how weird Winston would be around that baby!"

The couple first made their appearance at the 2014 Emmys in August. Speaking about true love, Dechanel said, "My parents have been married for 40 years and my grandparents were married for 70 years. I come from a long line of true loves," according to the Cosmo UK.

This will be Deschanel's second marriage, after her divorce from Ben Gibbard in 2012.
