ZenBook Pro UX501 Release Date: ASUS Launches Premium Notebook to Challenge Apple’s Retina MacBook Pro?

Taiwanese tech manufacturer ASUS has just unveiled its flagship device dubbed the ZenBook Pro UX501. As the name of this high-end notebook suggests, it will be a rival of Apple's Retina MacBook Pro. The new notebook from ASUS comes with a powerful 4K resolution display and comes in a metal body with diamond cut chamfered edges.

According to Tech Radar, the new notebook, which was released in the U.S. on Monday, sports a 15.6-inche screen display, which gives the device a booming pixel density of 282.42 ppi. As this model of the notebook is highly priced, ASUS has also come out with other variants having 1080p displays.

The ZenBook Pro UX501 boasts a wide assortment of connectivity ports, which make sure that the user is able to connect his/ her large screen monitors with the notebook.

The ZenBook Pro UX501 runs Windows 8.1 by default and will be supported with Microsoft's upcoming Windows 10 when the operating system is released for the public later this year. ASUS has priced its latest premium notebook at $1,799, which makes it a high-end device. While the device is certainly not the most affordable laptop available, keeping in view its hardware package, the high price of the notebook is understandable.

While consumers in the United States can already avail the ASUS ultrabook, the company is yet to announce when it will release the device for the global market.
