On April 17^th, Zayn Malik, former member of One Direction, debuted a new look on the red carpet of the Asian Awards in London.

The 22-year-old artist shaved off all of his hair, and is now sporting a buzz cut. Some fans are obsessed with his new look, while others are crying over the demise of his long locks.

Zayn has been in the headlines constantly since his decision to take his exit from the band One Direction earlier this month.

On Friday night, he made his first public appearance since he shocked fans with the news of his departure. He escorted his mother, Trisha, to the Asian Awards at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.

Zayn was wearing a navy blue suit and black tie paired with a simple white shirt and suede black boots. His mother wore a floor length black dress that was covered in gems, which she accessorized with a silver clutch bag and a matching bracelet.

Both Zayn and his mother did not seem to be bothered at all with all of the talk and speculations that have been going on about him and his choice to quit the world's largest boy band.

Zayn shocked not only his fans, but his manager, Simon Cowell with his revelation, stating that he just wants to be a normal 22-year-old.

There have also been rumors that Zayn has been spending time in the studio with Naughty Boy, the UK producer.

The producer shared a track that he had produced for the band, which did not make the cut for their last album, on sound cloud, misleading fans and his former bandmates.
