Slowly, the One Direction band members have been trying to branch out. Harry Styles was the first one to be rumored with going solo but the band member remains with the group. Now, rumor has it that another band member, Zayn Malik, is slowly going out on his own for a solo career.

When everyone thought it was Styles to first branch out from the group and have a solo career, its surprisingly Malik who was just recently confirmed to be collaborating with another music producer, DJ Naughty Boy to create music for the producer's upcoming album.

In an interview with the British newspaper, The Sun, DJ Naughty Boy, real name Shahid Khan revealed that the One Direction member Malik is going to be in his next album. "Zayn is going to feature on my next album ... We're making music and having fun. This is just like a side gig and I don't think there's anything wrong with it," Khan revealed.

Rumors and speculations are finally confirmed despite Malik's silence regarding the matter, Khan was confident enough to confirm the rumors. "I can't deny the fact that we have made music together," Khan said.

Khan even added that Malik made a good decision in trying out his luck on a solo "side-gig."

"It's a good time for Zayn to showcase what he can really do," Naughty Boy added. "I don't think that is being fully exploited with the band because there are five people and it needs to be balanced out," Khan said.

Indeed five people seem like a crowd for one person to fully show his capabilities. Malik is part of the band which has other members including Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson.

Meanwhile, Malik has not confirmed the collaboration and One Direction fans are already very anxious if the group will indeed break up or not.
