Vin Diesel will reprise his role as Xander Cage in the upcoming "xXx" sequel, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage." The 48-year-old actor who plays Dominic Torreto in the "Fast and Furious" saga, will be reuniting with Samuel L. Jackson who plays Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons.

In the previous "xXx" movie, the one where Ice Cube was the protagonist, Agent Gibbons said that the previous xXx is dead. Was he referring to Xander Cage or some other xXx that they hired after him?

So far, only Diesel and Jackson are the only ones that we know of who will reprise their roles from the previous films. Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Connor McGregor, the current UFC Featherweight Champion, has been tapped by the studios to be part of the film's cast. On December 15, according to Fox Sports, Vin Diesel teased the fans of the new cast member following McGregor's 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo to win the Unified UFC Featherweight belt. McGregor's part is still unknown and is still being finalized.

Diesel posted a photo of McGregor and him on Instagram with a caption:

"Timing and precision... The casting of the new XXX gets more exciting everyday. #Iliveforthisshit"

The movie is currently under pre-production and is gearing up for filming. It will be produced by Neal H. Moritz and the screenplay will be written by John Brancato and Michael Ferris according to The International Movie Database.

Vin Diesel will also star in another "Fast and Furious 8"film in 2017.
