Xperia Z4 Tablet Release Date: Sony Postpones Launch to June 29, Sets Preorder Price
When Sony officially announced its upcoming Xperia Z4 tablet in March, it was expected that the Japanese tech firm would launch the device in May this year. However, this did not happen and now Sony has postponed the release to June 29.
Quoting an announcement by Sony, IB Times reports that potential buyers can preorder the Wi-Fi-only variant of Xperia Z4 tablet from the company's official Website. According to Phone Arena, the company is yet to list LTE version of the Xperia Z4 tablet for sale. In the U.K., buyers can preorder the tablet for £499 ($767). However, Sony is yet to make the device available for preorder in the U.S.
As far as the key specifications of the upcoming slate are concerened, the device sports a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display with Triluminos technology and X-Reality Engine on board. The display is harmonized by 1,600 x 2,560 pixels resolution.
The Sony Xperia Z4 tablet is 6.1 mm thick and weighs only 389 grams (13.7 ounces), making it the slimmest as well as the lightest 10-inch slate available anywhere now. Phone Arena says that the upcoming tablet is as slender as the Apple iPad Air 2.
Inside the casing, the Xperia Z4 tablet is powered by the most recent octa-core, 64-bit (Qualcomm Snapdragon 810) SoC, which is clocked at 2 GHz. Moreover, the slate is supported by 3 GB of RAM and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.
