Xiaomi New Device News, Rumors: Chinese Smartphone Maker to Launch New Mi 4i Phone Today?
Last week, Xiaomi teased about the company's latest high-resolution smartphone which has given rise to rumors that the Chinese tech giant may launch a new phone this week. There are reports claiming that the company is planning a grand launch event that will feature its latest flagship smartphone.
Christian Today reports that recently Xiaomi India teased in a tweet regarding a grand launch in New Delhi on Thursday, April 23. According to rumors, the upcoming event may likely be the unveiling of Xiaomi's latest Mi 4i.
Apart from the longer battery life, the upcoming Mi 4i has been touted to pack a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, an Adreno 405 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, and it will run on the latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. In addition, the upcoming Xiaomi device is expected to sport a 4.9-inch full HD display rendering 1080 x 1920 resolutions. The Mi 4i is also expected to come with a 12 MP main rear camera and 4.8 MP front camera, as well as 16 GB of built-in storage.
Prior to the launch of Mi 4i, the Chinese tech manufacturer has already unveiled a special edition of the Mi Note dubbed as the Mi Note Black Edition. The Mi Note comes with a 5.7-inch display and 3 GB of RAM, the Mi Note runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. The device boasts a 13 MP main rear shooter and a 4 MP front camera for selfies. It runs on Android KitKat 4.4 version. The company made the Mi Note Black Edition available for the public on April 21, and it comes packaged with the latest album of the Chinese singer Jason Zhang.
In addition to the Mi Note special edition, Xiaomi has also confirmed that it will be shipping another flagship product, the Mi Note Pro, on May 6.
Aside the unveiling of the special editions of the Mi Note, the company has not provided any clear details on what Xiaomi will be launching on Thursday. However, some observers believe that the upcoming device will be the successor to the Mi 4. According to others, Xiaomi is currently expanding line up of products and it may launch the second-generation Redmi Note next.
