Xiaomi Mi Note Bamboo Edition News: Chinese Tech Titan Unveils Special Model for Domestic Market

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has just launched a Mi Note Bamboo Special Edition of its flagship device, which happens to be similar in appearance to the Motorola Moto X or X (2014). Apart from this similarities and a bamboo cover, the Mi Note is entirely different from its rivals, as its design holds true to Xiaomi's moniker the "Apple of China."

According to Tech Radar, this special edition with a bamboo rear has been unveiled only for the company's domestic market. Buyers in their home market can register to purchase one such device on March 24. Moreover, Xiaomi has promised that interested buyers will also get an opportunity to pre-order this Mi Note Bamboo edition which, is expected to be shipped in two weeks from now.

In terms of the hardware, the Mi Note Bamboo Special Edition is same as the original Mi Note edition. However, there are minor variations as far as the design of this phablet is concerned. Xiaomi has claimed that the wood back edition Mi Note weighs about 5 grams less compared to the original Mi Note, which is encased in a glass finishing.

In January, Xiaomi announced the Mi Note globally amidst huge fanfare. The new phablet comes with a 5.7-inch display, runs on MiUi 6 version, an extensively customized version of Android based on Android KitKat, and is equipped with the quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU alongside 3GB RAM. The device offers 4G connectivity on both SIM slots.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has conducted a poll seeking the users' feedback on their Mi Note's preference and most of the respondents have said that they like the wooden nature incorporated into phablet.
