Xiaomi Mi Fan Festival Device Launch News: Chinese Tech Giant releases Numerous New Products on Fifth Anniversary

The Xiaomi Mi Fan Festival event organized on the same day as the Chinese tech giant's fifth anniversary was full of surprises this Tuesday. The company launched a number of interesting products on the occasion, but the rumored smartwatch was nowhere in sight.

IB Times reports that the new devices that were launched to commemorate the company's fifth anniversary included a Mi TV 2 55", Redmi 2A, Mi Note Pink Edition, Mi Smart Scale, and a Mi Power Strip.

According to earlier reports, Xiaomi was expected to launch its first wearable device - the purported Mi Watch, out into the wearable market in competition with the Apple Watch. However, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun did not make any annoucements regarding the rumored smartwatch.

However, the products released on the occasion appends to the successful line-up of the company in China. The details, including their specs and prices, regarding the latest products launched by the company are presented below.

Redmi 2A

Although it was expected that Xiaomi would launch an ultra-affordable Redmi smartphone in April, the company made an early announcement. A cheaper variant of the Redmi 2, the Redmi 2A features a comparable design and specs, but costs less. On April 8, Xiaomi will be running a promotional offer on the new product, selling Redmi 2A for RMB 499, while the regular price of the device has been set at RMB 599 ($96).

Mi Note Pink Edition

The Mi Note Pink Edition is targetted at fashionable women, who value fashion and technology. This phablet has the same design and specs of the original Mi Note, except it has a pink color to it. Together with the 16GB Mi Note Pink Edition, the company is offering 5,000mAh power bank, for RMB 2499 ($400).

Mi TV 2 55-inch

Expanding its television line-up, Xiaomi has launched the all-new ultra-slim Mi TV 2 55-inch model, which features Samsung HD 4K panel and inclides a Bluetooth subwoofer and Soundbar. Smart pricing has always been the USP of Xiaomi products, and the new Mi TV2 will be sold for RMB 4,999 ($806).

Mi Smart Scale

Here is a device for the fitness conscious. The Mi Smart Scale is able to track even the slightest change in body weight and can be paired with Mi Fit app to keep track of up to 16 members with few taps. The Mi Smart Scale is priced at just RMB 99.

Mi Power Strip
