Xiaomi Mi 5 Latest News: Leaked Online Images Reveal Bezel-Less Design

Recently, some images of Xiaomi's upcoming 2015 flagship smartphone dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 5 were leaked online revealing the bezel-less design of the handset. The leaks notwithstanding, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is making all efforts to keep all information regarding the upcoming device a closely guarded secret.

According to Christian Today, recently Mobile Dad, a China-based online publication, shared photos of the alleged premium smartphone to offer an idea of what Xiaomi has been working on. While the photos are still uncorroborated, there are certain reasons to suppose that the device pictured in the website is really the Mi 5.

The most attractive feature of the handset, as revealed in the photos, is its sleek, bezel-free design that enables the screen to extend from the left edge to the right edge. However, it is really difficult to tell for sure if there are bezels, but are just colored black or whether Xiaomi opting for an edge-to-edge display for its upcoming flagship. Nevertheless, this styling makes the device look much better as well as more attractive.

Meanwhile, Phone Arena reports that the handset in the image features the same design language as one would expect from Xiaomi. Moreover, it bears resemblance to the appearance of its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi 4, and has the three archetypal capacitive buttons underneath its display.

In the leaked images of the purported Xiaomi Mi 5 shows the device apparently having a pair of openings at the bottom. However, it is unfortunate that there is no means to know whether these are the reversible USB Type-C port and loudspeaker or a 3.5 mm jack. According to Gizmodo, it appears from the leaked images that the device even has a USB port on the bottom segment.

Regarding the remaining the specs, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will supposedly feature a 5-inch Quad HD display and be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, paired with a 4 GB RAM and a 16 GB internal storage. The device is expected to come with a 16-megapixel or 20-megapixel primary camera in addition to a fingerprint sensor.

According to Tech Times, the device should pack no less than a 3300 mAh battery unit to make it on par with the OnePlus 2. It also claims the device is likely to carry a price tag of 1999 Yuan (around $320).

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is slated to be made official on Aug. 16.
