Xiaomi Mi 4c Rumored Specs: New Handset May Feature Snapdragon 808, USB Type-C
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has recently teased another variant of the Mi 4, which has been dubbed as "Xiaomi Mi 4c."
Citing NDTV Gadgets, Latin Post reports Xiaomi launched its new Mi 4i in India first. While Xiaomi fans in China may not like this, it is difficult for the company to miss the feverishly growing market in India. A recent leak suggests that Xiaomi may take a clue from Motorola and re-brand the same product for release elsewhere.
A video clip originating in China not only displays the packaging box of the purported Mi 4c, but also reveals some key specs of the handset, which has close resemblance to the Mi 4i in many ways. However, it is difficult to ascertain whether or not the handsets are one and the same as there is not much information about the Mi 4c at the moment.
As to the hardware specs of the Mi 4c, it might be Xiaomi's first handheld offering to be fitted with a USB Type-C version 3 plug connector, NDTV Gadgets noted.
According to recent reports, the Mi 4c will come with a five-inch 1080p display, a modest 3,080mAh battery and 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal storage. The device will be powered by a 1.4GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, which will feature two Cortex-A57 CPU cores, four A53 cores in addition to an Adreno 418 GPU.
In the camera section, the device will come with the same 13-megapixel rear primary camera and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper as the Mi 4i. Xiaomi Mi 4c will run on the recently launched MIUI 7 and be capable of 3G, GPRS and LTE connectivity.
According to Techno Buffalo, "Xiaomi is allegedly set to announce the new phone at the start of September, though the Chinese company isn't expected to make an appearance at IFA 2015 this week. As for the price, the Mi4c could cost around 1,299 Yuan (roughly $200) off-contract."
Meanwhile, the Mi 4c is not the only Xiaomi product circulating the rumor mills lately. According to reports, the Chinese mobile giant is allegedly working on the rumored Mi Edge, which is expected to feature a dual-curved edge design akin to that of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
