'XCOM 2' News, Upcoming Mods: New Mods Set To Come, Allow Players To Tweak Game Values
"XCOM 2" players are set to rejoice, as mods are set to return to the game and are being developed.
Long War Studios has recently announced that it is working on several mods for Friaxis Games' strategic video-game "XCOM 2," WCCFTECH has learned. As per the publication, Long War Studios is the work force behind the Long War mod for "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" and "XCOM: Enemy Within."
Three mods were already available for "XCOM 2" when it was initially released on Feb. 5 and they included the Muton Centurion, SMG, and Leader Soldier class. It is revealed that the first of the newest additions is accessible with no charge and it allows players to change several in-game settings.
A case in point is the Toolbox mod, which enables players to change the rotation of the camera in tactical missions, modify the game user interface, generate random stats for new soldiers or soldiers who reached a new level, and turn on the Red Fog, which is a modifier for injuries that affect the stats of a soldier.
Five new mods for "XCOM 2" are set to be made available for free download from the Steam Workshop in the forthcoming weeks and months.
Aside from the Toolbox mod, the other mods include the Perk Pack mod, which contain new soldier classes and combat skills for players to generate extra soldier classes of their own; the Laser Pack mod, which gives way to a new weapon tier; the Alien Pack mod, which opens the gate for ten new alien villains; and the fifth mod, which still has no name and is still in the works.
According to Games Radar, mods are efficient to use, as they empower players to do almost everything, such as changing small values beyond what the screen offers to execute stats and scenarios that do not usually exist in-game. Thus, it allows players to experience an alternate gameplay with "XCOM 2."
