'XCOM 2' Gameplay News: Features, System Requirements Unveiled
In the new installment of the XCOM game, there is role reversal as the XCOM becomes the invading force. The protagonists have resorted to more aggressive measures of confronting the aliens in their own turf but they are faced with several challenges.
The mission is made more difficult because of the limited resources and the need to use evasive maneuvers. The players must learn how to strategize in optimizing their limited resources such as firepower and must also use stealth-like tactics. The objectives include recruiting new soldiers to build a formidable resistance network.
Players must proactively find ways to surpass various types of challenges as they move to different game levels. "XCOM 2" has new gameplay features that enable the players to procedurally generate new levels, allowing for unique game experience. The new game will also include additional contents such as the five updated soldier classes and a variety of alien types.
A recent YouTube video thriller gave a glimpse about the look and feel of the new game but the more technical details were revealed in recent official statements in the press. According to PC Gamer, for instance, the new game will have relatively light system requirements. It only requires a PC with Windows 7 OS, and at least 4GB of RAM. As for the graphics card, it requires 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5570. Alternatives could include 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460. About 45GB of computer memory should be allocated for the game. A system with DirectX Version 11 is also required.
"XCOM 2" is set to be released on February 5, 2016.
