Xbox Scorpio Price, Specs, Release Date: New Console Gets 4K And VR Features?
New details on the specifications and release date of the Xbox Scorpio have surfaced.
Xbox Scorpio is now being compared to PlayStation4 Neo. According to Alphr, both devices are set to feature 4K and Virtual Reality (VR) capabilities, in addition to the ability to utilize 4K Blu-rays. The aforementioned features can also be accessed with a 4K television or a VR headset like Oculus Rift or PlayStation VR. While both gaming consoles provide unique benefits to their users, they can be maximized best using a 4K television or a VR headset.
In terms of specifications, Project Scorpio is set to integrate huge 6 TFLOPs, which suggests that the console is set to be 40 percent faster that the PlayStation4 Neo's 4.2 TFLOPs. Furthermore, this discrepancy in the TFLOP value suggests that Xbox Scorpio and PlayStation 4 Neo are set to be highly different when 4K gaming is concerned.
According to Tech Times, the Xbox Scorpio and PlayStation4 Neo are set to have eight-core processors; though the former's clock speed is yet to be revealed while the latter's is assumed to be clocked a 2.1 GHz. In addition, both consoles are set to have about 8GB of GDDR5 RAM; however, their speed varies as the former can work with 320 GB/second while the latter is assumed to have a bandwidth of 218 GB/s.
When it comes to price, the Xbox Scorpio and PlayStation4 Neo are expected to be sold at a higher price when compared to their predecessors. As per speculations, both consoles are assumed to cost about more than $150, with the former set to be more expensive than the latter because of its high-end components.
The Xbox Scorpio is expected to be released in December 2017 while PlayStation4 Neo is expected to come out in December this year.
