Xbox Project Scorpio Rumors Roundup: Already In the Works After Release Of Latest Xbox Refresh?
The much anticipated Xbox Project Scorpio has yet to get a release date but there's news coming from Microsoft about an even newer undertaking.
Xbox head Phil Spencer shared the news on his Twitter, where he responded to a question from a fan who asked whether or not the Xbox Project Scorpio would be the mother of all consoles.
He replied, "Already have ideas for what could be after Scorpio. Great thing in gaming, early tech adopters and best creators of any industry."
Unfortunately, Spencer did not elaborate on his statement so we'll just have to wait and see about any developments in that regard.
Nevertheless, it's easy to see why people may think that Xbox Project Scorpio might be the future of gaming consoles. To date, it's the only one in Microsoft's lineup that can truly support VR technology.
As Spencer predicted in an interview with EndGadget, the technological divide in consoles have considerably narrowed in recent years. Citing smart phones as an example, he said that the leaps in tech advancements will be yearly instead of seven years between generations.
Aaron Greenberg, Xbox Games' marketing head, also said in the same interview that there's a huge interest surrounding Project Scorpio so judging from that, he predicted that the console would be a success.
"If the games and the content deliver, which I think they will do, I think it will change the way we think about the future of console gaming," he added.
Watch out for more news on Xbox Project Scorpio which will be published here when they come along.
