Xbox Project Scorpio Release Date News: Graphics Going To Rival PCs?

The Microsoft Xbox One S is almost upon us, but what gamers are really waiting for is the news about Project Scorpio, which promises to "revolutionize" gameplay for console users.

According to rumors, the Xbox Project Scorpio could feature 6 TFLOP computer performance. Hardware Slash reported that if the news are true, that could really give the console the ability to match the capacity of the computers of today.

Of course, by the time 2017 rolls along, there will have been massive evolutions to PC graphic cards, which means that it will still leave Xbox Project Scorpio's 4K resolution in the dust.

This was the same assessment by CD Projekt Red's Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz who said that new cards are released religiously for PCs. That means, the Xbox Project Scorpio will be on par with current-generation PCs in terms of graphics.

In an interview with Gaming Bolt, he said that PCs "are growing and developing superfast."

"New graphic cards are being released very often and more often than the new consoles being released. So I think it will put Scorpio on par with the PC is that we have at that point," he added. "But I think PC is growing so fast that it'll outpace [Scorpio]."

iDigitalTrends said that if the news about Xbox Project Scorpio having 6 TFLOPS is true, that would be better than the AMD's Radeon RX 480 which has 5.8 TFLOPS. Again, by the time the new Microsoft console will hit the market, PC graphics would be on another new level.
