Xbox One Summer Update: Improvements, New Features Include Better Cortana; Language Region Independence, Background Music
Xbox has released its summer update for the Xbox One.
Xbox representative Larry Hryb revealed about the Xbox One update on Twitter. On Aug. 5, Hryb wrote on his social media account that they were pushing out a system update for the Xbox One. He emphasized that there were no new features, but just a few behind the scenes fixes.
According to Gamer Pros, the new Xbox One update includes Cortana as more than plain voice commands, which utilizes natural language and text dictation. The Language Region Independence also lets players select any supported language irrespective of geographical location.
As per the publication, the console users can also use a headset or Kinect to turn the Xbox One on and off, find new games, begin a party, keep in touch with friends, and perform various tasks. Cortana is revealed to be available in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
Along with Cortana, Xbox One is also set to revamp its Game Collection interface to let players launch games quickly and easily, as well as sort and manage them with ease. Also, the update showcases background music, which includes Groove Music and iHeart Radio, among others.
It was further revealed that the Xbox and Windows shops are being merged to provide a unified gaming experience across platforms. This indicates player convenience when it comes to result filters by rating or genre, user reviews, and sale price sorting.
As per Winbeta, users can check for updates manually. According to the publication, the user scrolls left from Home to open the guide, selects Settings, and then All Settings. Then, he chooses Console info and updates under System. After that, the available updates will appear in the second button down in the first column.
