Xbox One Slim Release Date News, Rumors: New Console's Details Going To Be Revealed At E3 2016?

Talks about Microsoft revealing details of Xbox One Slim during an E3 Keynote this coming June have gained traction, even as the tech giant has refrained from commenting on the alleged news leak of a recent FCC filing.

The rumor about the Xbox One Slim was likely ignited on NeoGaf forum sharing a photo of a filing before the Brazilian Federal Communications Commission.

The post was shared by member Ekim who explained that the console itself is being described simply as "the Host."

"Xbox One's wireless chip was approved by the FCC under Model Number 1525 or the FCC ID C3K1525 (C3K is the unique identifier for Microsoft and 1525 the model number)," the post added.

But there seems some foundation to these rumors and news reports of an Xbox One Slim, particularly with Microsoft exec Phil Spencer telling Game Informer earlier that they are either swinging big or going home on the next gen console.

"I'm not a big fan of Xbox One and a half. If we're going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers," he said. "For us, our box is doing well. It performs, it's reliable, the servers are doing well. If we're going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people - an upgrade."

There's no bigger change than an overhauled Xbox One Slim, if the rumors are to be believed.

The Verge also seemed to confirm the rumors about a prototype pointing to the development of the Xbox One Slim. "A new wireless chip could be just a small part of the optional hardware upgrades to the Xbox One that Microsoft is planning," it said.
