Xbox One S Release Date News, Price, Specs: All Games Going To Be Enjoyed In 4K

Previous news reports have claimed that the Xbox One S can support 4K games, Microsoft has confirmed that all games--including the previous ones--will be in high-definition.

This was confirmed by Mike Ybarrra, the partner director of program management, who hinted in a series of tweets that the Xbox One S can upscale the previous titles to 4K.

Shack News was surprised by this news regarding the Xbox One S because there was no hint of it during the E3 event. However, the ability to upscale old titles to be played in this new console would be a treat to hardcore fans, it said.

Aside from the all-white color, there are significant changes to the new console. The Xbox One S is 40% slimmer than the current generation console, and it also features a vertical stand so you can stand the device upright. Inside, it has a 2TB hard drive, which would be plenty of storage not just for games but for streamed content from Netflix and Amazon Video as well.

What got everybody excited was the news about the Xbox One S controller's bluetooth capability which allows gamers to connect it to their PCs.

PC Advisor shared the news about the pre-order date for the Xbox One S which is going to be on Aug. 31. However, it noted that Amazon has set the pre-order for Aug. 2.

The price for the new console is set at $349 for the 1TB and $399 for the 2TB. The basic 500 GB model, meanwhile, will be priced at $299.
