Xbox One S Controller News: PC Connectivity Confirmed; Buyers Will Get Two-Controllers-In-One

The new Xbox One S controller will be able to connect to the PC seamlessly, which would be good news to fans as they can shift to the console and in their desktop to play their favorite games.

Microsoft exec Phil Spencer shared the news to Major Nelson that buyers of the Xbox One S will get basically two controllers for the price of one.

"The team that designed controller did an amazing job," he said. "Not only does it have the Xbox One wireless protocol built in, it's also Bluetooth. So you get one controller that you can use between your console and your Windows 10 Experience.

He said that there's going to be no visible dongle, and binding it to the PC is very easy.

But according to the news article from PC Gamer, Bluetooth should have been added to the previous Xbox One controllers. However, Spencer said that although the technology is there, they didn't put too much focus on that aspect when designing their consoles.

"I still think Xbox Wireless for the console experience is the right way to go, which is why we put both antennas in there," he said. "But yeah, that same controller that comes with the Xbox One S or the custom controllers that people are building ... so those are Bluetooth as well."

For more news about the new controller and the response time when connecting to the PC via Bluetooth, fans will just have to wait for the launch of the Xbox One S. The controller is reportedly retailing for $60.
