Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Games List Reaches Over 150 Titles; ‘Alan Wake’ DLC Update Announced

Microsoft exec Mike Nichols has described Xbox One Backwards Compatibility in November 2015 as the most significant change to any console. And considering the gains of the update, that was probably the understatement of the year.

"We recognize that people have invested so much in terms of buying games and they have established friendships with people that they don't want to leave behind," he told Gamespot then. "And so, what we've set up to do with backwards compatibility is really remove that concern or alleviate that concern that somebody has to leave something behind."

As of this writing, the total games list for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility has already reached over 150 titles.

The list includes popular titles such as the "Assassin's Creed" series, "Doom" series, "Dark Souls," "Gears of War" series, "Halo" series, "Sonic The Hedgehog" series, "Rainbow Six," "The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings," "Fallout 3," "Prince of Persia," "Tekken Tag Tournament 2," and "Tron: Evolution."

Fans, however, have been pleading with Microsoft to include other titles, like "Red Dead Redemption," "Skyrim," or "Rise of the Tomb Raider," to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games list.

In related news, VG247 reported that the DLC for the "Alan Wake" in the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility can be downloaded for free.

"Both The Writer and The Signal are available free if you own Alan Wake on either Xbox 360 or Xbox One," it said. "If you don't own Alan Wake, you can buy it for £14.99/$19.99."

"Those who pre-ordered Remedy's latest, Quantum Break, were gifted with a digital copy of Alan Wake and both DLC."

The Bit Bag said that "Alan Wake" was one of the most in demand games on the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games list.
