Xbox 1.5 News Update, Rumors: Wait Till You Hear What Microsoft Boss Has To Say

The rumors about the Xbox 1.5 upgrade have been circulating on the web for months now, but Microsoft boss Phil Spencer nipped all the talks in the bud when he weighed in on the speculation.

Talking to Venture Beat, Spencer said that he has qualms about upgrading on a piece-meal basis, as what the Xbox 1.5 ugprade rumors suggested.

"I don't know. Not a big fan of one and a half," he said. "I think about what happens in most spaces. If I'm going to move forward, I want to move forward in big numbers."

"I can understand other teams' motivations, why they might want to go do that. But for us, our box is doing well," he added. "It performs. It's reliable. The service is up. If we go forward with anything I want to make it a substantial change."

Spencer also quashed the Xbox 1.5 rumors during the Major Nelson podcast, as shared by Shack News.

"The feedback I've received about, 'Hey, am I going to break open my console and start upgrading individual pieces of my console?' That's not our plan."

Spencer added, "There's something special with what happens with a console. You buy an appliance-like device. You plug it into your TV, and it just works when you plug it in. It's not like I'm going to ship a screwdriver set with every console that comes out."

With Spencer finally weighing in on the issue, it should hopefully end all the Xbox 1.5 rumors right there but realistically, with the amount of half-truths peddled on the Internet, it's highly unlikely.
