'X-Men: Days of Future Past The Rogue Cut' News: Fox Releases New Movie Footage

20th Century Fox has recently revealed footage from X-Men: Days of Future Past, which has never been seen before.

The clip is called X-Men: Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut, and it consists of seventeen minutes of extra footage which includes the scenes of Rogue that were removed from the theatrical release of the film.

The promotional clip for the footage is almost one minute long, and it features Rogue, played by Anna Paquin, lying inside Cerebro.

Iceman, played by Shawn Ashmore, and both the past and present versions of Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen, respectively, try their best to save Rogue's life.

At the end of the clip, young Magneto breaks the glass in order to take his helmet.

The studio made he decision to release the extended version of the movie, because several fans of the franchise were upset to discover that many of Rogue's scenes were not included in the version of the movie that was released in theaters.

Simon Kinberg, the screenwriter of the film, explained why the super heroine's cameo was taken from the finished version of the movie.

"In a movie that had a ton of plots and a ton of characters to service, the Rogue plot -- as you will probably eventually see -- was a subplot," said Kinberg. "It was a deviation from the main story of the movie, and as much as we loved it when we saw it, anything that took you away from the main spine, the main story of the film, we had to cut."

As it stands, 'X-Men: Days of Future Past The Rogue Cut' will be released on July 14th.
