'X-Men: Apocalypse': Trailer Launch, Release Date, And Everything We Know So Far

We can all agree that 2016 will be a great year as we get excited to drool over the countless, much-anticipated movies from our favorite hit media franchises. And to our delight, we will soon get a glimpse of one of our must-sees, "X-Men: Apocalypse."

Both Alberta Film Ratings and the British Board of Film Classification (BBCF) have confirmed that trailers for  "X-Men: Apocalypse," "Independence Day Resurgence," and  "Suicide Squad" have been rated. This means "Apocalypse" could have a trailer debut this Christmas season.

Bryan Singer, who boasts previous X-Men movies as well as "Superman Returns," "Jack The Giant Slayer," and many other iconic movies in his portfolio of works, will be directing the 2016 X-Men installment.

The action-fantasy sensation kicks-off on May 27, 2016, and will pack a star-studded ensemble. The "Apocalypse" cast is led by James McAvoy,  Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and Nicholas Hoult who play Professor X, Mystique, Magneto, and Beast, respectively. Oscar Isaac will play the villain Apocalypse. 

Rose Byrne, Evan Peters, and Lucas Till will also come back. 

"Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner is a fresh addition to the film, alongside Ben Hardy, Tye Sheridan, Olivia Munn, Lana Condor, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

The this installment, the X-Men will be up against Apocalypse,  the first and the most powerful mutant since the dawn of civilization. Worshiped as a god, he has gathered the powers of other mutants to become immortal and invincible

Apocalypse awakens after thousands of years and is displeased with the current world. He forms a team of mutants to wipe out humanity and begin a new world in which he will rule.

Raven, alongside Professor X, leads a team of young X-Men to defend humanity in "X-Men: Apocalypse," reports Coming Soon.
