'X-Men: Apocalypse' Spoilers, News: Director Says Movie will Change X-Men Cinematic Universe

Fans have all wondered how the upcoming 'X-Men: Apocalypse' film will change the franchise's cinematic universe, especially after the time-altering ending to 'Days of Future Past.'

Furthermore, how will the universe find room to fit in characters Deadpool and Gambit with the announcement of their solo films.

Director Simon Kreisberg was available to comment on some of these speculations in an interview with IGN:

"Things that happen in one film are acknowledged by the other movies. The result of the aftermath of 'Apocalypse' is something that will impact the course of history in the world in much the same way that the end of 'Days of Future Past' did. From 1973 forward, the world knew about mutants. A mutant took a football stadium and dropped it on the White House. That's not the history we were raised on. So, instead of ignoring it, all of the movies that come after that in the timeline acknowledge it and embrace it, and it becomes part of the complicated reality of 'X-Men' history on film."

It has already been sadly announced that franchise pioneers, Hugh Jackman and Jennifer Lawrence won't be around for later films. Jackman perhaps has one more solo film and he'll be putting down the claws for good.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' premieres in theaters on May 27th, 2016.
