'X-Men: Apocalypse' Spoilers, Cast News: Nicholas Hoult's Final Portrayal of The Beast?

Unfortunately, reports are saying that 'X-Men: Apocalypse' might be the last film where Nicholas Hoult plays The Beast. The British actor, who played in role of the blue mutant in 'X-Men: First Class' and 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' said that the upcoming film in Bryan Singer's 'X-Men' series is the last movie that he has signed up for.

Christian Today reports that Hoult revealed that his contract with the 'X-Men' franchise will be over after the installment releases in 2016. However, the 25-year-old English actor is not dismissing his chances of appearing in future 'X-Men' movies. He has said that subject to the script, he is still interested in reprising his role.

In an interview with E! News, Hoult said, "The first one did so well and [Days of Future Past] got received so brilliantly," adding, "It's like, 'Wow, people really want to see the films' and the best thing is it's a great crew and cast to work with and he's a fun character. I have a good time playing him so I'd keep making them."

In 2014, 'X-Men' producer Simon Kinberg told Collider that 'X-Men: Apocalypse' will summarize the end of the characters in 'X-Men: First Class' trilogy.

In the interview, Kinberg revealed that the upcoming film will focus on the relationship between Hoult's character and Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique. At the same time, he mentioned that "the relationship between Beast and Mystique is a really interesting one that we didn't have a lot of time to explore in Days of Future Past, so we'll have an opportunity to do more of that in Apocalypse."

Meanwhile, a report in Screenrant states that Hoult is not the only actor who seems uncertain to reprise their roles in the 'X-Men' franchise after the premiere of 'X-Men: Apocalypse.' The report says that even Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy are nearing the end of their respective contracts. However, as of now, there is no news regarding whether or not the actors of Mystique, Magneto, and Professor X will remain or be replaced in future installments in the 'X-Men' franchise.

On that note, 'X-Men: Apocalypse' will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
