'X-Men: Apocalypse' Release Date, Cast News: New Featurette Reveals Apocalypse; 4 Horsemen Wiping Out The World
In line with Bryan Singer's upcoming Marvel Comics film "X-Men: Apocalypse," a new featurette has been released and it feeds fans more information about the Four Horsemen.
According to Michael Fassbender, who plays Magneto, in "X-Men: Apocalypse" and in past "X-Men" films, Apocalypse was capable of magnifying the mutants powers and he was designed to take judgment on the world. The actor added that the supervillain gathered four mutants, his Horsemen, to wipe out the human race.
"Apocalypse is very powerful and the world is at stake," according to Olivia Munn, who plays Psylocke in the film.
Previously, Alexandra Shipp, who plays Storm, told Collider that the character was present when Apocalypse first woke up in the 1980s Egypt. With that detail, it is assumed that Storm has a great degree of rapport with the supervillain, as per the publication.
As previous reports revealed, the Four Horsemen are Storm, Angel, Psylocke, and Magneto. Storm is capable of changing the weather while Angel is capable of flight and using his metallic feathers to launch an attack. Psylocke is capable of using her psionic beams to create her katana, which she uses with her physical strength in battle. Then, Magneto is capable of controlling metals and some forms of telepathy, just like Charles Xavier.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" centers on Apocalypse's rise in the modern era. Thinking that the contemporary world is a destroyed home for mutants, he decides to destroy it and rebuild his own world, recruiting four strong mutants as his Four Horsemen. Facing a global threat in Apocalypse's plan of massive destruction, the X-Men must stand together and use their abilities to stop the supervillain.
The film also stars Ben Hardy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Monique Ganderton, Stan Lee, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Lana Condor, James McAvoy, and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse.
According to Coming Soon, Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" concludes the "X-Men: First Class" trilogy. The film is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 27.
