'X-Men: Apocalypse' News Update: Olivia Munn Talks Sword Fighting Training for Upcoming Movie [VIDEO]
While filming of the upcoming 'X-Men: Apocalypse' is in full swing, recently actress Olivia Munn, who portrays Psylocke, a mutant with telepathic abilities and ninja-like skills, took to social media to tell fans about some of the training has undergone for the movie.
According to Latin Post, the actress posted a video posted on Instagram boasting some her new sword fighting skills and the training she is currently undergoing for 'X-Men: Apocalypse.'
Alongside the video, she wrote on the post, "Learned some new tricks..." In fact, the video also shows her boyfriend, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who seems to be helping Munn out with the sword training.
While Munn portrays Psylocke in 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' this is the second time that the actress is appearing in an "X-Men" film. In the 2006 film 'X-Men: The Last Stand,' Munn appeared as a villain and a member of the Omegas, which combat the X-Men. It is worth mentioning here that in the 2006 film, several comic book fans found it difficult to interpret Psylocke, because some of the powers the character possessed were not in line to what was mentioned in the comics. Moreover, the uniform also did not resemble the original character.
Originally, Psylocke was written into 'X-Men: Days of Future Past,' but later the character was cut out of the film. Munn will be reviving the character 10 years later, and from what it appears, this version will be more close to the comics. While the costume of Psylocke is yet to be revealed, from what fans saw in the two previous X-Men films, this possibly will be the version comic book fans are waiting for.
Apart from Munn, 'X-Men: Apocalypse' will star Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Xavier and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse. In addition, the film will star Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler and Ben Hardy as Angel.
'X-Men: Apocalypse' is scheduled to hit the theaters on May 27, 2016.
