'X Men: Apocalypse' New Cast News: 'Game Of Thrones' Actress Sophie Turner Joins as Jean Gray

The X-Men films have been drawing fans from all over the world since the first movie was released. When the movie X-Men: Days of Future Past aired last year, we were worried that this would be the very last of this superhero series. Luckily, X-Men is back, and it's back with a whole new cast. Meet the newest member of the mutant team: Sophie Turner.

Sophie Turner, the actress who played the manipulative Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, will join the X-Men cast as mind-bending mutant Jean Grey. Turner was introduced by Bryan Singer, the X-Men: Apocalypse movie director through Twitter.

"Meet our new and brilliant young mutants: @Alexshipppp as #Storm @SophieT as #JeanGrey and @TyeSheridan as #Cyclops," Singer wrote. He followed the post with the hashtag, "#XmenApocalypse".

The "young mutants" mentioned will play the younger versions of the X-Men superheroes, Jean Gray, Cyclops and Storm. The original actors to play the characters from X-Men were Famke Janssen, James Marsden and Halle Berry.

Along with Sophie Turner as the new Famke Janssen, we will get to see 23-year-old Alexandra Shipp as the new Halle Berry. Alexandra can be recognized by her leading role in Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B. We are very excited to see how Shipp takes on her weather-controlling role. You could say we've been struck with X-Men Fever!

Fox announced that the release date for X-Men: Apocalypse will be on May 27, 2016. What could director Bryan Singer have in store for his young mutants now?
