'X-Men: Apocalypse' New Cast News: Director Releases Concept Art for Ben Hardy's Angel

Actor Ben Hardy was previously rumored to take on the role of Angel in Bryan Singer's 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' but with that being confirmed, the director has released some detailed concept art of the actor in costume.

The picture reveals a different take on the character with him sporting metallic wings. Singer posted this caption with the photo, "Ben Hardy is Angel - I shall confirm it for you! But he's not a very nice Angel! And that's all I'll say..."

This statement leads fans to believe that Hardy may in fact be playing or evolving into the Archangel character, which in the comics depict a much more stronger and menacing Angel.

"Hardy joins returning cast members James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver. Other newcomers include Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as young versions of Cyclops, Storm, Jean Grey, and Nightcrawler, respectively," writes Geek Tyrant.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' hits theaters on May 27th, 2016.
