'X-Men: Apocalypse' Cast News: Jennifer Lawrence's Last Reprisal of the Mutant Mystique

Jennifer Lawrence is currently one of the more popular actresses in Hollywood right now and that's due largely to her ability to sneak into these huge movie franchise roles.

While most recognize her as Katniss from 'The Hunger Games', X-Men fans will highly affiliate her with her role as Mystique in the last couple entries of the franchise. However, this may not be the case for very long, as according to her interview on the red carpet premiere of 'Serena', she's finished with the role.

Lawrence undeniably confirmed that 'X-Men: Apocalypse' will be her last ride as Mystique in the films.

"It is my last one, actually," she stated.

"It's not a shock to hear that Lawrence and 'X-Men' are parting ways, even if it's difficult to swallow; her work as Mystique has been one of the major highlights of the rebooted franchise ever since 'X-Men: First Class'. But with the casting of new mutants Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm, and the time-altering ending of 'Days of Future Past', it sure seems like a new era of 'X-Men' is about to begin, while the reign of James McAvoy's Xavier, Michael Fassbender's Magneto, Nicholas Hoult's Beast and Lawrence's Mystique draws to its natural end," writes MTV.

It's uncertain if the franchise plans to just kill her off in the upcoming film or if they'll find another actress to helm the role. That would make it the third one within the rebooted franchise.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' rolls into theaters on May 27th, 2016.
