‘X-Files’ Revival Release Date, News: Series to Keep Original Opening Credits
The release date of the 'X-Files' revival series is drawing near, and new information about what fans can expect has been announced. First off, the world premiere will take place on January 24, 2016, and what's more is that the series will retain its original opening credits.
What that means, is that the same introduction that the original 'X-Files' has will introduce the new episodes once more. While the opening credits were altered time to time over the course of the seasons, they pretty much stuck to a pattern.
Chris Carter the show creator went ahead and explained why the series was going to take on the original introduction once again, "We thought about doing some changes to the original credits but then it seemed like sacrilege. Those credits were on 202 episodes. They belong on these next six."
According to a Vulture report, when the first episode was airs in a closed showing, the opening credits garnered "the biggest applause" that night.
Stepping into some spoilers that fans of the 'X-Files' are surely looking for, Chris Carter went ahead and offered some solace to anxious fans. Carter, who spoke briefly about the series in Cannes, just after the first episode premiered, said, "It's a perfect time to come back with the X-Files considering global politics," when discussing why the show is coming back now.
He went on to say, ""We're trying to be honest with the changes dealing with digital technology: the capability of spying. Clearly we're being spied on in the US - or at least spying on you - and there seems to be no shame in it."
Beyond that, and stepping back to the original series, fans will remember many of the episodes that have been labeled, "monster of the week episodes." On that note, it seems that an episode just like that would be included in the 'X-Files' revival series.
Clearly Chris Carter has a passion and love for the series as he has ventured into reviving it. All in all fans will not be disappointed as the series is going to be legendary. To close out an interview Carter said, "I love telling X-Files stories. The truth is out there! If we satisfy audience expectations, certainly there's an opportunity," adding, "Mulder and Scully will be in wheelchairs before they are wheeled off stage!"
