'X-Files' Reboot Spoilers News: First Set of Photos Revealed
The X-Files, which completed its last run on television 13 years ago, is coming back for a six episode miniseries on Fox beginning January 24th.
The original stars of the television series, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will both be returning to reprise their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, respectively.
Fans of the show thought that the news was too good to be true when they heard it first, but it is clear that it is the real deal, as the first picture of the pair back on the set has been release.
The picture features Mulder and Scully, as they seem to be kissing. This is possibly very revealing of what will happen when the season returns.
As fans patiently wait for the episode to air, they may be able to rejoice at the possibility of a second season.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Duchovny said that he would be open to doing another season of the show after this one.
"I would be open to doing another cycle," said Duchovny. "I don't know that I could do a 20 episode version of this show at this point in my life, and I don't know that Gillian could. But I think everybody is open ended on what happens after this. Certainly, we didn't bring it back with the idea of ending it."
Duchovny also revealed in his interview a little bit of information about the format of the upcoming series.
When asked whether or not the mysteries would be episodic or an arc throughout the season, he said there would be a mix.
