'X Files' News: David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Talk 'X-Files' Revival

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson were featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine, in order to promote the return of their iconic television series, The X Files, which has been rebooted.

The reboot of the show will premiere in January 2016. Duchovny and Anderson teased the revival of the series, releasing a few details here and there about what viewers can expect.

The pair spoke about the upcoming season, which will focus on their investigation of an alleged alien abduction.

The abductee will be played by Annet Mahendru, known for her role in The Americans.

"Mulder's not in a great place, he's wearing bad jeans, so you can just extrapolate from my wardrobe," said Duchovny of his character. "He's in a dark, dark place."

The sexual tension between the characters, Mulder and Scully, have been tantalizing fans for years.

Anderson talked about what can be expected from their relationship in the new season of the show.

"I like where we find Mulder and Scully in their relationship," she simply said, in an interview with TV Line,

Anderson also talked about what it is like for her to bring back Dana Scully, a character that she has not played in nearly seven years.

"It feels like it's been a long time since I've played her," said Anderson. "I can't remember what year the movie was, but it felt like Scully was further away from me than I'd thought she would be. But I've also worked really hard at putting her entirely to sleep..."
