WWE Rumors and News 2015: 'Macho Man' Randy Savage Getting into Hall of Fame in 2015?

In latest WWE news and rumors, it appears that the long running sports entertainment company may finally inducted one of its greatest professional wrestlers into this year's Hall of Fame class, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage.

Last month, World Wrestling Entertainment CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon discussed the possibility of Savage eventually taking his rightful place in the HOF when he spoke to his greatest in-ring rival Stone Cold Steve Austin in an interview last month.

"Oh absolutely. Definitely. I'd say soon. I'm not so sure if it's this year but soon," said Mr. McMahon on Austin's podcast show in a live interview that also aired exclusively on the WWE Network on December 1.

Best known for his in-ring ability, energetic interviews and a distinctive raspy voice, the late Florida native had many memorable bouts with several legends such as Hulk Hogan (WrestleMania V), Ric Flair (WrestleMania VIII), Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat (WrestleMania III) and last year's HOF headliner The Ultimate Warrior (WrestleMania VII) during his legendary run in WWE from 1985-1994.

After he signed with WWE's chief competitor World Championship Wrestling (aka WCW) 21 years ago, it was rumored that he and McMahon's once close relationship shattered when he joined the Atlanta, Georgia based company (from 1994-2000).

Savage's real life brother Lanny 'The Genius' Poffo talked about going against Randy's wishes of not accepting a possible HOF induction if his family members (Lanny and their late father Angelo) would not be elected into the Hall together.

"So, I told my mother I'm willing to allow the WWE to put 'Macho Man" Randy Savage' in the Hall of Fame by himself. I'm not going to have a blinking contest with Vince McMahon...I'm just not man enough to do that, fellas. I can stand up to a lot of people but not him. He's got more guts and brains than anyone I've ever met. Even Randy would have told you that," said Poffo in an interview with Wrestling Epicenter's Interactive Wrestling Radio last month.

"What is the Hall of Fame anyway? It isn't for the Macho Man, it is for the Macho fan and they are the ones that made him great. I'm sorry, Randy. I hope that you're not mad at me. Maybe we'll find out later."

If Savage finally joins the HOF, the 6-time World Champion (two-time WWF Champion and four-time WCW World Heavyweight Championship) would be the main headliner when the annual ceremony takes place at the SAP Center at San Jose on March 28, 2015 (one night before WrestleMania XXXI).
