‘WWE 2K17' News, Rumors: Who Will Be Next Cover Star? Silence On PS3, Xbox 360 Compatibility
Being on the cover of "WWE 2K17" is kind of like a big deal for a wrestling superstar, not just to stoke their egos but also from a marketing standpoint.
So it's but natural for developers and executives of 2K Games to keep the cover face under wraps, amid all the rumors and news reports suggesting names of superstars who might likely be chosen for the honor.
However, there are rumors that point to Shane McMahon as the Blackhorse in the race to become the cover of "WWE 2K17."
Vince McMahon's prodigal son made a comeback to Raw a few weeks back to an amazing fan reception.
"In one night, the man became one of the most popular faces in the WWE and many are looking forward to his Hell in a Cell match with Undertaker in WrestleMania 32," Bit Bag said.
"While many are expecting this to be a one-off program, his positive reactions from the audience might be enough to make him the cover star of 'WWE 2K17,'" it added. "At the least, he'll be a playable character in this year's game for sure."
What Culture, meanwhile, said that any news about "WWE 2K17" giving a chance to the younger generation to be the cover star would be welcomed.
And there are a slew of new superstars who will gladly take the rein and usher the game into the future.
There's Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins and possibly even CM Punk just because of his tiff with Vince McMahon.
Meanwhile, news reports and even the rumor mill are still silent on whether "WWE 2K17" will be available in PS3 and Xbox 360 after the support for the two consoles will end this year. As the release date draws near, it is expected that this issue will be clarified once and for all.
