WWDC 2015 New App News, Rumors: Apple to Release New ‘Home’ App at WWDC?
Just weeks before this year's World Wide Developers Convention, Apple has announced that it plans to manage its upcoming HomeKit compatible accessories by introducing a new iOS app, which will be called Home.
The company is testing a version of iOS 9 which includes the new app, which will allow users to set up some of the new smart home products.
These include WiFi garage door openers, smart thermostats, and wireless door locks, which use iPhones and iPads.
Last year, at the World Wide Developers Conference, Apple became a part of the "Internet of Things".
The company has continued to work on the framework for HomeKit and the Home app behind the scenes, according to a reports by 9to5mac.
The App could make its debut along with iOS 9 at the Worldwide Developers Convention next month.
The home application symbol is currently a house symbol on a dark yellow background. The app has been described as fairly basic in terms of function.
The report also highlights some of the features of the new app. Users will be able to wirelessly discover and set up compatible HomeKit devices.
The app will be able to create a virtual representation of rooms and the home so that users will be able to organize and connect HomeKit devices with ease.
The Apple TV can be used as a hub to connect all of the HomeKit devices and offers screens that will help users to find HomeKit devices and applications.
At this point, no one knows whether the new app will be announced at Worldwide Developers Conference. Some believe that it will only be for internal usage.
