'World of Warcraft' Update News: New Mercenary Mode Won't Allow Players to Fight as Bad Guys
Latest reports state that Blizzard has just announced a new Mercenary Mode to the 'World of Warcraft's' unranked PvP matches that will prevent fans from playing bad guys in the massively multiplayer online role-playing game. This is certainly of great concern for the fans of the popular game.
IB Times reports that the latest Mercenary Mode will be included in an upcoming patch for the game. According to the grapevine, the new mode will let players, whose factions are enduring prolonged waiting periods, to combat on behalf of the other side as a mercenary, simply by speaking to the agents placed in their respective bases as Ashran.
Recently, Blizzard issued a statement saying, "We'll be adding a feature that allows you to act as a mercenary for the opposite faction in PvP."
It added, "Whenever your faction is experiencing a long wait time to get into Ashran or unrated Battlegrounds, agents of the enemy faction will appear in your base in Ashran (Stormshield for the Alliance, Warspear for the Horde)."
The statement issued on the official website page of the game publisher further adds, "These agents will allow you to enter Ashran or Battlegrounds disguised as an enemy player, and actually fight as the opposite faction."
The new Mercenary Mode enables the players to earn the same rewards that they would have received after willing or losing while playing for their own side after they compete as a mercenary. However, the rewards earned by the players are subject to their faction-specific achievements.
Quoting the World of Warcraft Battlenet, the report states that in addition to the above, "players will also have their races automatically changed into one appropriate for the opposite faction, while still inside the Battleground or Ashran."
The company said, "Perhaps most importantly, however, you'll experience much shorter queue times, as our matchmaking system will be able to fill up groups much quicker," adding, "Our goal with Mercenary Mode is to allow players who want to participate in Ashran or unrated Battlegrounds the ability to do so without having to wait through long queues, while still maintaining the spirit of the core Alliance vs Horde fantasy."
