WonderCon New Movie Trailers News: 'San Andreas’ and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Unveiled
The WonderCon fan convention this year was graced by the presence of the major production company, Warner Bros. Pictures, which showcased the trailers of its upcoming movies, "San Andreas' and "Mad Max: Fury Road.'
"San Andreas,' which stars Dwayne Johnson, is a disaster film directed by Brad Peyton. The plot revolves around the aftermath of an earthquake in California, wherein a Los Angeles Fire Department rescue-helicopter pilot and his ex-wife attempt to leave Los Angeles and head to San Francisco to find and rescue their estranged daughter.
The trailer begins with some destructive images from the scene of the earthquake with Johnson rescuing his wife from the scene, followed up by some disturbing images of the city cracking up at the center.
The director Peyton, speaking to Variety, said, "The most important thing to me was an honest portrayal of what these people go through. The moments after a reel that showed buildings collapsing, people being swept away and characters played by Dwayne Johnson and Alexandra Daddario, struggling to survive underwater, which got the audience in the Anaheim Convention Center giddy."
"Yes, we blow a lot of stuff up, but you see the reactions "” this is raw, this is honest."
The other trailer, which was revealed at the WonderCon was for the movie "Mad Max: Fury Road,' is a post-apocalyptic action film that revolves around the character Mad Max and his escape from his captors. The movie is directed, produced and co-written by George Miller. The movie is set to release on May 15, 2015.
The movie stars Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Josh Helman, John Howard and Richard Carter.
