'Wolverine 3' Trailer News: New Movie Poster Reveals Logan's Deeper Relationship With X-23

Following the release of the much-anticipated trailer for the final standalone film for Wolverine, "Logan," Fox Films Peru has now shared the latest international theatrical poster for the superhero flick.

"Wolverine 3" will house Hugh Jackman's final portrayal of the mutant and will feature other familiar faces, including Professor Xavier and Caliban. They will be joined by a new female character known to comic book readers as X-23.

The newest international poster for the upcoming film offers a better look at X-23 and Wolverine. In the poster, Wolverine is shown running with his iconic metal claws extended on his one hand, while his other arm carries X-23, whose face is pressed against his shoulder.

The new image sparked speculations that Wolverine and X-23 will be one of the major relationships to be featured in "Logan."

Fans learned from the first trailer that Wolverine will help X-23 evade a sinister military group. However, the recent poster seems to suggest that their partnership will evolve beyond the war and will become more paternal.

"Logan" is seen to be a darker superhero film than "Wolverine 2," with plenty of bloodshed and grief. Here is the synopsis for the film:

"Set in the future of 2024, Logan and Professor Charles Xavier must cope with the loss of the X-Men when a corporation led by Nathaniel Essex is destroying the world leaving it to destruction, with Logan's healing abilities slowly fading away and Xavier's Alzheimer's forcing him to forget. Logan must defeat Nathaniel Essex with the help of a young girl named Laura Kinney, a female clone of Wolverine."

"Logan" is set to be released on March 3, 2017.
