'Wolverine 3' News: Hugh Jackman Teases Sabretooth Cameo and 'Berserker Rage'
'X-Men' fans are all excited to see the bittersweet end to Hugh Jackman's career as the titular Wolverine character in his last solo film, 'Wolverine 3.'
While we've recently learned that Patrick Stewart has been enlisted to reprise his role as Professor X, not much else has been revealed in terms of cameos.
Jackman recently attended a podcast with Sydney Confidential to speak on the upcoming film, and in it he dropped reference to the Sabretooth character, as well as his character's signature "berserker rage," as comic book fans are familiar.
The conversation followed:
Sydney Confidential: "When you tweeted about Wolverine 3 the other day, the response was huge!"
Hugh Jackman: "Yeah, unbelievable."
SC: "Give me something about Wolverine, what's happening? You bringing it back to Australia? The story..?"
Jackman: "There were a lot of calls for Victor Creed to come back, there was... I must admit I was quite heartened by a number of people saying please don't make it the last, but I'm really excited about this last one, and if you're a comic book fan, then the words 'berserker rage' came up a lot, so if you know Wolverine, you'll understand."
If Sabretooth will return in 'Wolverine 3,' there is no confirmation that it will be reprised by Liev Schreiber, the actor who portrayed him in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine.'
Wolverine's "berserker rage" is a special reference to the character's most primal and dangerous form that he has taken in the comics. It hasn't yet been brought to the films, but according to Jackman's words, fans can expect that version of the mutant to bear his fangs in this upcoming movie.
'Wolverine 3' is set to hit theaters on March 3, 2016.
