‘Winds of Winter’ Release Date News, Rumors: Will George R.R. Martin Complete His Novel Before 'Game of Thrones’ Final Season?
Serious doubts are being raised on whether or not author George R.R. Martin will be able to complete his best selling novel series "A Song of Ice and Fire" before the final season of 'Game of Thrones,' the TV adaptation of the novels on HBO. However, all this does not seem to be of any concern to the author, who told Geekwire at the Sasqual science fiction convention that "anything is possible."
Christian Today quotes the author, acknowledging Geekwire, "The show is moving forward like a locomotive, or sometimes a jet locomotive."
There is no doubt that the series has now broken away from his books. With 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 already in production, Martin continues to be working on "The Winds of Winter" - the book on which the show is based.
Martin recently said, "They're writing 60-page scripts, I'm writing 1,500-page novels. So who the hell knows?"
Meanwhile, the novelist acknowledged that he is troubled by the fact that the 'Game of Thrones' series may not only outpace his books, but may also overshadow them. Martin, however, added that he has already accepted this possibility.
According to Martin, "Worrying about it isn't going to change it one way or another." He said, "I still sit down at the typewriter, and I have to write the next scene and the next sentence. I'm just going to tell my story, and they're telling their story and adapting my books, and we shall see."
As of now, there is no news regarding the release date for "The Winds of Winter," the sixth book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. In fact, the author is still hard at work in completing it. Earlier reports, however, said that he will try to finish writing the novel before 'Game of Thrones' returns to for Season 6 on HBO next year.
As far as questions regarding the release of his novels are concerned, Martin seems to be somewhat tightfisted. According to Geekwire, recently the author joked, "Don't ask me when the book is going to be done - I'll ask my minions to lop your head off."
According to reports, "The Winds of Winter" will be followed by "A Dream of Spring," which is the seventh and possibly the final book. Meanwhile, HBO has already disclosed its plans for an eighth season for the 'Game of Thrones.'
