'Winds of Winter' News: Release Date Delayed, George R.R. Martin Says Book Is Far From Done?
The light at the end of the tunnel might be diminished for "Winds of Winter" fans. George R.R. Martin unveiled that the book is far from done, as opposed to the news that it will be out anytime soon.
Winter is Coming first reported that Polish translator Michael Jakuszewski hinted the release, revealing that he received a request by the Zysk Publishing House to translate the book before the year ends. However, Martin confirmed that the material is not finished yet.
"For months now I have wanted nothing so much as to be able to say, 'I have completed and delivered THE WINDS OF WINTER' on or before the last day of 2015... but the book is not done," as stated from his online journal.
The highly acclaimed author also wrote that everyone- the editors, publishers, agents, translators and even HBO are disappointed. But most of all, he said that there is "no one that could be more upset" than him.
For that, he offers his sincerest apology to the fans who have been patiently waiting for the novel to be out on the bookshelves. However, he did not provide a specific timeframe for the readers to anticipate but he assured that the wait will surely worth it.
Meanwhile, there is a rumor that George R.R. Martin is seeking for a co- writer. Kpopstarz assumed that the 67-year old novelist had "too much on his plate" resulting in the delayed release. Nonetheless, this rumor can only be addressed with a pinch of salt as Martin has not said anything about it.
Following the delay is the news that the upcoming season of "Game of Thrones" was rescheduled again. According to Vanity Fair, the medieval drama series will pave a way to the 10-episode drama show "Vinyl" which will debut in Valentines day through April 17. HBO will then take a week off before airing "GoT" Season 6.
