Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 Rumors: New Version Features Bluetooth Support & Changes to Personalized Settings?

While Microsoft hasn't officially announced a new update for its newest phones, sources are reporting on rumors all around the Internet showing off several subtle, yet interesting features for the latest Windows devices.

The Window Phone 8.1 Update 2, or GDR2, comes with the newly released Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL smartphones that were shown at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona Spain. In a video provided by Windows Central, a man does a side by side comparison with the new update and older settings.

Instead of a seemingly random list in the settings menu that users would have to swipe, the new update categorizes the settings. It is not that big of a change, but the subtlety of it makes the menu look clean cut and professional. If the list is too long for some of its users, individual settings can be found using a search mode.

What's most interesting about the GDR2 update is the ability to pin individual settings to the Start screen. Before this, users would have to download third party apps in order to pin the settings to the Start screen. Now all that is required is for the user to hold down a setting where there will be a button says "Pin to Start." Tap on that and the individual setting will then appear on the start screen.

In the settings list there is also a new feature called App Permissions. When opened, the app permissions give users a list of apps that use a certain phone feature. There users will be able to manage what apps can use which phone feature such as pictures and videos.

Microsoft has neither officially said anything about this update, nor provided any changelogs.
