Windows 10 Release Date News: Consumer Preview Early Leak Reveals New Features - Live Tiles, Internet Explorer 12

The final version of Windows 10 is set to be released sometime in 2015 and leaks of the Windows 10 Consumer Preview says that the new operating system is looking to add several key features.

The Chinese website IT Home stated that there were leaks for early versions of the Windows 10 Consumer Preview, which has a version number of 9888. These leaks are showcasing more features than the Windows 10 Technical Preview version that Microsoft has opened to the public for testing.

Screenshots of the Windows 10 Consumer Preview showed that the operating system will contain the new Internet Explorer 12, a new Live Tile customization and the ability to move Live Tiles to a Star Screen and pin them there similar to widgets.

Those from IT Home have also said that Microsoft will also turn on the Continuum user interface. This means the operating system will be able to adapt when devices that are 2-in-1 and contain a touchscreen or a removable keyboard.

Before the official release of Windows 10 though, fans and users have been making their demands and preferences known in Windows 10 suggestion boxes and feedback forums.

Some of the requests that have been made include better animation for the Start menu, allowing users to disable the taskbar buttons Windows Search and Task View, allowing users to make local accounts and adding tabs to File Explorer. They are also asking that the operating system allow Windows Update to work on the computer's hardware drivers, allow the virtual desktops to show different background images and folders, and allow users to customize the login screen, amongst other things.

Users are also asking for a better Notepad and the addition of a Persian calendar with Daylight Savings Time feature due to its large Iranian fanbase.

The final version of Windows 10 will be released in 2015, though there has been no news on the estimated release date.
