Windows 10 News, Rumors: New Features of Microsoft's Latest OS Leaked via Screenshots
The Microsoft Windows 10 event in January showcased some interesting and cool new features for the latest devices that would run the new OS. However, screenshots were leaked over the weekend, and they reveal even more features that are sure to make the new software shine.
According to Polish website Windowsmania, the screenshots support the build no. 8.15.12521. Last week, the screenshots leaked on the same forum were numbered 10038.12518. Whether the numbers bring significant changes to the screenshots has yet to be determined.
Looking at the latest screenshots reveals that LED notifications will be a big change for Windows 10 for phones. According to The Verge, BlackBerry OS and Android have long supported LED notifications. Now Microsoft is looking to join the LED group.
It's still uncertain if Windows 10 will support colored LED notifications or not. Also, the apps for Windows 10 devices will use sounds, vibrations and banners to notify users. This feature will most likely be available for all Lumia devices first.
Another big feature to be included in the latest update for Window 10 is the ability to remove the main Microsoft Account without resetting the device. If the account is removed, all applications will be gone as well.
The Verge stated, "Microsoft is also tweaking the Windows 10 for phones UI to more closely match the desktop counterpart, with improved context menus, new toggle menus, and circular user avatars instead of square versions."
The release date for Windows 10 has yet to be announced, but consumers are eager to get their hands on the latest Windows 10 software. Windows 10 for phones should be available to testers in the coming weeks and expansions to more of the company's devices too.
