Windows 10 News: Redstone 2 Set To Replace ‘Problematic’ Anniversary Update?

Microsoft is already gearing up for the Redstone 2, and the news came just a week after the company rolled out its Windows 10 Anniversary update.

The news was published on the Windows blog on Aug. 11 where it announced the release of "Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14901 for PC." What's new in this build is the notification feature in the File Explorer, which will basically educate users about the new OS.

"They're designed to help customers by providing quick, easy information about things they can do or new features they can try to have a better experience with Windows 10,"the blog site said.

The blog also shared the news about the Windows 10 Anniversary update to be released to Mobile devices sooner rather than later.

Speaking of the Windows 10 Anniversary update, Gordon Kelly wrote for Forbes that the new OS is causing major problems for its users. One of the major issues was the PC freezes when it is restarted. He pointed to a Reddit thread where some users suggested that those who encountered problems should reinstall the device drivers or disabling the Secure Boot or editing the registry.

Unfortunately, none of the solutions work apart from just uninstalling the Windows 10 Anniversary update. This piece of news would be bad indeed, especially since people are already hesitant about switching to the new OS in the first place.

There's this news about Microsoft executives admitting that they might not hit the 1 billion target of PC owners switching to Windows 10 by 2018. And that's with the tech giant offering free installation for weeks. The issues experienced by the users will only add to the uncertainty surrounding the new product.
